3D Animator (Motion Builder)

Freelance position

We’re Frozen Lake Studio, an art production studio with over 50 artists, animators, and producers, with our main office in Tallinn, Estonia, and a legal entity in Chișinău, Moldova. We work on diverse projects across 3D assets, concept art, 3D and 2D animation, and co-development, for multiple platforms like mobile, PC, consoles, VR, and AR.

We regularly collaborate with freelancers on various tasks across different game styles and platforms. This gives the opportunity to work on exciting projects and get to know our studio and processes. Many of our freelancers work with us long-term, with the potential to join our full-time team.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and refine high-quality animations for characters, objects, and environments.
  • Work with motion capture data (retargeting, cleanup) and hand-keyed animations.
  • Integrate animations smoothly into game engines like Unreal Engine and Unity.

We expect from you:           

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with motion capture: retargeting, cleanup, and polishing.
  • Good understanding of anatomy, movement, and cinematic animation.
  • Experience integrating animations into engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.

 Nice to Have:

  • Experience with facial animation (blendshapes).
  • Previous work on high-quality (AAA) games.
